At 7 p.m., Kachina Chapter President Larry Bonura, a senior technical writer, editor, and indexer for more than 20 years, will share his expertise and experience on how to successfully manage a technical documentation project. Using a Microsoft Project template he created, he will identify the tasks and activities related to common technical communication deliverables and will show you how to schedule and track your project on a daily basis so that you know where you stand. To communicate with your team and managers, you also can use the tool to generate a succinct graphic that keeps them informed and up-to-date. Larry will give you a URL where you can go to download a free template of his project tool.
Stay with us when Past President Helen Moody presents long-standing member Jean Gabriel with the 2010 Distinguished Chapter Service Award. Ms. Gabriel’s dedicated service to the New Mexico Kachina Chapter from 2005-2009 covered many roles, including Chapter Secretary and Webmaster. She has also supported the chapter as a competition judge, Job Bank Coordinator, and adviser to the 2009 Administrative Council.
